Job Description
Our team is growing our Optical Hardware Integration and DWDM transmission capacity and as such is seeking a Optical DWDM Transmission SDVT engineer to work in our cutting edge DWDM optical transmission lab, characterizing DWDM transmission with high speed optical transponders in long-haul and metro optical networks. Work also could include subsea cable characterization, commissioning, integration, and field support.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Planning and execution of transmission tests on DWDM line systems
- Development and modelling of link engineering rules
- Analyze results and perform experimental transmission tests that drive Architecture and System Engineering decisions
- Setup and maintenance of optical test beds
- Work may include characterizing and acceptance test of customer links
- Interface with customers, perform customer demos
- Operation and revision of test automation software (LabVIEW, HP VEE, Visual Basic, Python) and AI tools
- Extensive hands-on lab work
