About the role
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Dataplex Engineer with strong expertise in data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and data quality within GCP environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Google Cloud Dataplex / Knowledge Catalog solutions.
- Configure metadata, data assets, data zones, business glossaries, and taxonomies.
- Implement data discovery, lineage, profiling, and data quality rules using DataScans.
- Integrate cataloging and governance solutions with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and BigLake.
- Manage IAM, RBAC, policy tags, data classification, and access controls.
- Develop automation using Python, SQL, APIs, and Terraform.
- Troubleshoot metadata ingestion, permissions, lineage, and data quality issues.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Dataplex / Knowledge Catalog.
- Strong knowledge of GCP data governance and metadata management.
- Experience with BigQuery, GCS, and data quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of data lineage, IAM, RBAC, and policy tags.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data architecture.
